While dads away..

Daddy went to Sydney for a few days this week. We survived. Albeit an exhausted mummy at the end of the week.
Top parenting first night in.
Playgroup.
Your second big movie- finding dory! Still captivated by the whole experience.
IKEA for $5 dinner w granny- waving goodbye here. Even though she'd left about 10 minutes earlier.
Aunty cat stepped in for Pilates babysitting. Although you managed to sit through the first half of class without a peep- I didn't even need to pull out the surprise egg videos!
Kwazii passing me a pretty flower. (Sour sob).
Tacos and a movie Saturday night. Good date!

At the big movies

First trip to the cinema today- or the big movies as you have been calling it.

After dad freaked you out this morning saying if you're scared just tell mum (and then you spent all morning saying no, big movies too scary) things went super smoothly!

Met Cat and Sebastian, managed the line up (schools hols) without too much drama. S bought your ticket (well mine as you're free until 3!), we got snacks and headed in. The ads were already on and you were so taken with the screen the minute we got in. You just sat in your seat holding your ice cream.

A few scary bits and the start which you gripped onto me for but then all ok. I knew the scary bits were coming thanks to the parents guides which are amazing.

You say for almost the entire movie, standing up near the end but just in front of me. Cat treated you a Smiley face biscuit which you proclaimed 'it's a smiley' and then sucked the banana mouth for 20mins.

A quick lunch and then we all headed home. You and S in the back, both absorbed in your target catalogues.

Best news- free until you are 3!

Duplo skills

Mum, I made this for you.
1- when did you start being able to build such big towers without my help
2- as if you are that cute, making it for me!
Mum, you love it right?
Eek. Even cuter than I thought. Yeah I love it bud.

A tough winter.

We've been hit pretty hard with colds this winter. Everyone is tired, busy, and sharing.

You certainly don't let it get you down though.

You enjoy 'special treats' like honey in warm water, popcorn, and making cubbies. You also don't mind honey flavoured cough syrup.

We've just had a great conversation about today's cubby being only for one person.

Thanks for your invite, but I won't fit in there with you.

Love dad dad.

Aye aye captain mummy

To the zoo today.

When I asked if you had a toy and were ready to go, you said aye aye captain mummy.

The cutest!

Other phrases currently killing me are:
- oh yes, you're right mummy, that's right
- I hadn't had a poo (yeah you did buddy)
- watch a photo (video on mums phone- preferably the one with other kids opening toys)
- cucumumber
- hi I'm John, this is mummy.

Still a good eater. Knocked down half a multigrain chicken and lettuce Santa with me today! And a proper juice which you've never had, obviously a winner.

2.5 and the queens 90th

On Saturday you were officially 2.5. Here you are on your half birthday.
Celebrating with a fat lip after a fall on your face off the back of the couch the night before - just as we were on our way to nana Murphy's birthday.
Mummy got sucked in and bought you a half birthday present. I let you pick any toy and you didn't even go for the big one! You got a kwazii and shark gup.
On other news- big long weekend. Beautiful weather for the beach- you can walk down on your own now.
Dinner with the Conidi-highams, matching pjs with Luca! Sleeping soundly in the pram on the walk home. You won't fit much longer.
A fun long weekend with our big little boy.  (As you call yourself)
