The birthday files- after party.

Back at ours Uncle Sash kept you all busy on the soccer pitch.

You were both so in to the makeshift rabbit cage.

The birthday files- party day

Party day!

Massive effort to get you down for a midday nap and then you weren't keen to wake up when it was party time.when I was listing everyone coming to the party and asking if you wanted to see them there was a lot of 'no' action but very happy once we saw the set up and guests waiting.

Balooooonnnnsss. This looks promising.
Cake! Very windy so we kind of pretended.
Animals.
Beautiful poppet!
Nice family shot if you could hear your eyes of the animals ;)
Playground fun.
Weeeee. So fast down here now. You tumbled at the end of the slide the first time but no worries- you said "John ok".
Pandas? Looking for pandas with Ella on the hill.
Hanging with the fam.
Our handsome man.
Party continued at the house.

The birthday files- birthday day

We had a great day on your birthday. And then mum and dad both went out to Christmas parties and you got to hang out with grandad, cat and Sebastian and granny. So a pretty fun day!

Happy boy when you woke up- I think you knew it was a special day!
Presents! Unfortunately you can't quite say fox properly. 'Fock' is a favorite toy though so you are saying that out in public a lot now.

Breakfast with mum and dad. You blew out your first candle.
With Max at the zoo- just got your passes!
Panda.
Hanging with the pandas. First time you've not been terrified of these.
Finally looking at real pandas.
Looked at a heap of other animals, had lunch and then guess what..
Patting the pandas goodbye.

You had a good sleep in the car hen hung out with all your peeps as they did JM shifts over the night.

Mum went and sang karaoke. You would've put your fingers in your ears ;)

Some last minute adjustments

You decided some of our IKEA wares were a bit loose ahead of your birthday party.

Found the Alan key, and proceeded to tighten every chair, hinge and farm house.

Tradesman? You took to it intuitively.

Like all good tradies you like a chino at the end of the job.

Happy Birthday!

Mum will update. Here are a few snaps from brekkie at Whipped, Semaphore.

Xx Dad

You gave that candle your best shot- and almost blew it out. Next year mate.

You can see the excitement in your face here- I think you realise it's your special day.

The Lemon Tart was perhaps a bit too tangy, but you gave it a great shot with your fork.

Drop dad at the train, and then off to the Zoo.

Have a great day mate!

Still just 1

A 2 year old.

It sounds much older than a one year old.

A one year old still needs helps eating and walking and can't really say much.

Today you are cheeky, you can drink from a cup and use a spoon (messily..) and not only can you talk you communicate your likes and dislikes and funny jokes. And check we think it's funny. Funny? You say with raised eyebrows.

Today you are almost two.

I'm going to miss what one stands for, still my baby. But two- two is "lub you" and cuddles and dancing and laughing in the car. So it is fun too.

And everything dadad said too x

Happy 2- almost!

Mum just put you down for your last night as a 1 year old.

You called for your animal magnets off of the fridge, and mum brushed the knots out of your hair- so long it gets stuck in your shirt collar.

Today when I picked you up from childcare you saw an opening in the door, grabbed Ahby, and made your escape down to the kindy end of the building.

Once Djara contained you- you both legged it and gave a cheeky grin when you realised the gig was up- we left via the office. You blew Fiona a kiss as you said bye.

In the car, you asked for your remaining bottle, we put on Old McDonald (on repeat...) and you were fast asleep before the end of the block. You are sleeping less and less during the day- your fear of missing out greater than your need for rest.

Well done on a great two years. I hope you continue to love life, learn from everything, and, despite the grief it will no doubt cause, continue to push the limits.

All my love, always, Dad Dad.
