Roly poly

Well rolling is now your fav thing! Hilariously we can put you on your back, you roll over, have a look around, get bored and grizzle, we roll you back and repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Yesterday you caught a bit of tele before we headed out to Pilates mums and bubs (bit of grizzling and drooling then you napped:) and then to see Manda, 5 months pregnant with your playmate to be!
Looking super cute for the day's outings.

I'm teething Wilma, bugger off!

Wilma likes the idea of a teething ring too.

JM loves the cold teething ring- not sure if he has teeth coming or if he just likes to chew.

Mum said 'I can see why they like this' as she gave it a go herself.

Mums group

Off to our first mums group at the cafhs today. Seems a nice group of mums and babies. Lots of crying, feeding, rocking as the facilitator talked.
After a little play and roll over when everyone was looking (show off!) you went down for a nap with your bassinet on the floor and didn't make a peep.
Since we've been home you've been busy practising your rolling over- nailed it today! Just need to work in rolling back..

Hands, pets and a pool out front

You have discovered your hands- holding them together, sucking them and grabbing anything in your path are the latest trends!
Mando and Wilma still looking to be friends, but they are happy to sleep near each other with the safety of the door.
Just about to head to Joseph's 3rd birthday and T burst the water pipe. The discussion being would we prefer water or electricity supply. T says elected and proved water isn't required by heading to the beach for a wash... It was 20 degrees, brrrrrr.

Anzac

Your first Anzac Day was a very long day indeed!

Dawn service at the Largs RSL, then preparation and arrival of our guests for the Anzac Day Cabernet Sauvignon tasting.

14 people at 14 the strand largs for 2004 Cabernet and pizza. You could not resist the crowd and refused to sleep until the very last guests left.

You are certainly a party bub.

Big bed big sleep

Well after a big day of trying out your new rolling skills and napping well it is night number 1 in the cot!

So far so good, fell asleep like an angel.
Bassinet still on standby just in case!

Update: slept through til 6am, I heard you self settling through the night now you can suck on your fingers freely!

Birthday adventures!

Three cakes in three days for ma.

BeeSting with mum and Glenn,
Raspberry cream sponge at Murphys Easter bash,
Cookies and Cream and Peppermint Ice cream cake at mums birthday party (and for the next three days too!).

Ice cream cake should see out birthday month, but with ma and JM at home on their own during the day you never can be sure.

Lunch today at the pier with Dad and Di- the Palais was booked out again.

The yuppies are moving north JM. More digging of the front yard, neighbours giving good advice but reluctant to put their shovel in.

Sebastian and Luca dropped by to play, you were all very chatty, although Mando the cat had clearly other ideas.

Easter!

Long weekend to get started in the front garden. Not loving all the required digging but I do get breaks for baby duty :)
Easter morning was fun. Daddy organised an egg hunt for us after having cuddles in bed. Today you have really mastered the ability to poke our your tongue which you have been most impressed with!

Mums birthday

A gorgeous card and diamond earrings from you and dad! My first birthday as a lucky mum, 33 :)

Play date

Bel, Oliver and Chloe came down for a play yesterday. A gorgeous day, we walked down to largs for the playground and icecream. You will love those outings when you are older but for now you slept  through it beautifully.
Wilma is getting closer to you but not allowed to play with you just yet!

Capture

Just to hold onto a moment. Breathing in your gorgeous warm baby smell in the filtered sun, stroking your soft downy hair.  Love you baby boy.

Sunday stuff

A nice day at home. Nanna and Opa visited and then dad made your change table. You were very interested- we are hoping you can renovate for us when we are in our twilight years.

Saturday 12 April 2014

4m (and one day...)

JM's face is really taking on some character at 4 months.

You can now stand up without a lot of support, sit, rollover, grab your teddy and your caterpillar, and you are more and more interested in your big sister Willy (Dini is a recluse).

Your hair is coming back too, a soft blonde, and your fave food is not vanilla yoghurt (you have scrunched up your face twice!).

You have found your thumb (instead of your whole hand although this is still an option), and you can rub your eyes 2/3 shots.

Friday 11 April 2014

China town!

We went out to t-chow with grandad for the first time this week. You dutifully napped whilst we ate and then happily passed out cuddles after.
In your swimmer nappies. Unfortunately this outfit didn't make it to dinner. I learnt the hard way that they aren't very absorbent..

4 months young!

Yay- 4 months yesterday! It has gone so fast. You like chewing your hand, any combination of fingers or thumbs, squealing and you have started an interest in toys.

Cuddles

Cuddles at 4am- the '4 month sleep regression' is here.
And, cuddles with your caterpillar- you are learning that you can grasp and reach for things.

Monday 7 April 2014

A big day

Loads of new skills!
Grabbing and eating toys.
Rolling over onto your tummy...
And back again!
Sleeping in your big bed. One nap so far but a good start. Given you are squeezing into your bassinet now this makes you look tiny again. I can't believe you'll ever grow out of this.

With the boys

Pat, Josh and Sascha and Emma came over for pizza night. Such a good party baby, in bed by 8 and smiley even when you are tired and over it.
On another note you love taking selfies.

Friday 4 April 2014

I want my old bed!

The flat packed fun never stops at Ch. John-Mandini-Willy.

Finished John's first cot today, less than impressed on first entry.

A change table, and ikea wall unit await in the hallway- doubt we will get to them this weekend.

Baby monitor looks strangely like a penguin. Obviously the designers never watched the Batman movies.

Shops like baby bunting, bunnings, etc do very well out of life changes- or at least they have done well out of us lately!

Corned beef and yoghurt.

Caught mum with a strange food combo this morning.

'I bet you feel like corned beef and yoghurt now' she asked.

Not quite.

Beginning to wonder about any strange food combo cravings you might have. Perhaps time to ween before too much damage is done...

You don't have any teeth yet, and the little taste we gave you of vanilla yoghurt made your face go sour.

Fortunately the damage at this stage seems to be limited. Xo dad.

Babysitting

I ended up responsible for these 4 munchkins today whilst Bel popped our for a bit and Meg went to her car. Petrified someone would so something but everyone was very happy. Nice to hang out with all the kidlets- John asleep!

Thursday 3 April 2014

On the bus

Walked to semaphore today and then hopped in the bus home. First time we've been in the bus together! You just cruised along as always. We get lots of comments out and about- 'don't hear a peep from him', 'isn't he happy' etc. You are a pretty good bebe :)

Sticking out your tongue

You have been trying so hard to stick your tongue out at dad and finally we have success. When you manage to stick it out we cheer and you think it is great.

Milestones!

So it's official, I may not even have a minute to get my toast as I may miss something- like the first time you rolled over! Yes, you were happily laying on your back and then you were happily playing on your tummy. Oh oh, the fun begins!!
On another note we have had a full fun day today. Lunch with the work gals, got petrol for the first time (waited for the prime possie) took Wilma to her groomers, shopped in town for a bit and corned beef is on the stove for dinner. A big day.
All in the car!
