Little tongue.

You have learned how to stick your little tongue out mate- it's a bit more mess than usual when you eat but very cute!

Saturday 20 September 2014

I only drink frizzante.

Your coordination skills are great mate, you've leaned how to pull a bottle from a rack.

Now just to teach you how to select a particular bottle, pull a cork and grab some glasses!

Soon enough we will drink a glass together mate. Enjoy your sippy cup for as long as you can! X dad.

Whirlwind tour, and dogless.

While half of adelaide barracked on the Power (was not meant to be:( and the other half barracked for the other team (Hawthorn- to the grand final) we had a whirlwind tour of grannies and great grannies.

We never thought that we would feel like we are ripping you away from your grandparents, and was proven wrong tonight. We tried, our best, to have a whistlestop tour of the north east: rostrevor for the Murphys, paradise for the other Murphys, and then Klemzif for the tromps.

All very short visits, but all the more lovely. Anne, Geo and Susie, as well as Chris and Trudy turned their attention from the big game to JM while he showed off his new crawling skills, and Opa, who you meet for the first time each time we visit, tested your soccer skills.

You seem to be pretty good with a ball mate, tracking, chasing, reaching with one arm and Opa showed that he still had a few tricks of his own left too.

Back home to a house without Wilma (Auntie Magda and Uncle Steph's) and mum just asked to let the dog in.

Now it really feels like we are flying out tomorrow.  Now to pack the bags and finish a few work emails...

All sick ahead of our trip...

But great to see your smile back mate!

Mum commented that this is a usual setup for your feeding time. Wilma is having a whinge too. She looks good with her hair cut.

Don't usually get to see this part of your day, a nice upside to a nasty cold and stuck in bed.

Not sure if it is only because I'm viewing everything through the lense of baggage allowance, but gee you have grown to be big.

You had better start walking soon mate as mum will not be able to carry you around much longer!

X dad.

Who doesn't love a nudey baby

Fun in the sun

Earlier today, before the emergency visit(!), enjoying the grass daddy did.

They let us keep you... Just.

You've have more doctors trips in the last couple of days than you have in your entire life. It all came to a head with an emergency visit tonight (welcome to the emergency club, son!).

Nurse was very nice. Pediatrician told us the complete opposite of the Doctors advice. She was not happy with the advice we received. A very smart doctor.

Ice cream at Maccas drive through made up for any feelings of inadequacy or guilt.

9 months and inconsolable

Our sick lil man. Worst night ever last night. You cried non stop for 2 hours, slept for an hour, cried for another hour and then on and off woke til morning. Back to the doc today and you have been put on prednisalone- hopefully that'll sort your croupy chest.
Such big crazy tears. I wished I could just put you back in my tummy, you never cried in there :)
Speaking of, you were 9 months today. Officially same time cooking as same time out in the real world. And we had our very last breast feed earlier this week. You are growing so fast and I do miss your neediness but I love your new found independence and personality.

A sick poppet

My poor lil guy.
Some kind of eye infection and cold. We have been to the doctors and got your first lot of antibiotics (except when you were born). I gave you the first dose this afternoon. Then you spewed that and all your milk on me. Grosssss.
Dr Bird gave you a glove balloon- fun!
Finally had a nap on mummy xx

Sunday 7 September 2014

Happy Father's Day!

First Father's Day and the weather turned it on so it has been a nice relaxing warm day. You gifted dad some socks and undies, a photo mug, number 1 dad tee and an arrested development DVD (eugh, thanks JM).

Swimming.

A walk to the pier with grandad and Di- with your first nap in our travel stroller.

Wine and cheese and a nap while watching the footy (port won :).

With the Conidi-Higham boys

Off to the library this morning before we went and visited Sebastian and Luca today.
Luca did not want to share toys with you, he was a little perplexed that you can now follow him to get something. Sebastian was extremely happy to see you and read some books to you and gave you lots of 'I love you's' xo

Grandad's 60

Grandad turned 60 this week and we went up to Stirling for a surprise party.
The grandparent age folk loved you and you were passed around all night!
When we got to 730 you happily had your bottle and went to bed, parked at the end of the table.

Picnic in the park

Mums group out in the park today. First time really playing around on the lawn and it was pretty fun. About a third of the babies are crawling now.
Later at home you tried to chase Wilma. I can see youuuuuu Wilma....
A cute lil man.

A life AND a baby

Movies Sunday night. We wanted to see the Inbetweeners 2 which didn't have a crying room cinema so I think everyone who walked in freaked out when they saw us nestled near the front with a pusher. All good though, you had your bottle, watching the big screen, then went straight to bed. Such a relaxed lil man.

Am baby. Will crawl

Bit of a nightmare getting you down for naps at the moment. Crawling practice is playing havoc with rest time. "Look mum- I need to keep practising!" Unfortunately if you've just eaten this means you'll spew everywhere (as evidenced by today's lunchtime nap- which was subsequently forfeited as the sheets were  rank!).
So today you've been rocked to sleep for your naps, which we haven't done since you were a teeny baby. It is pretty cute watching you relax and drift off in my arms. Unfortunately it doesn't create the best sleeping habits for you though so fingers crossed the crawling novelty wears off soon.
