The first time

My last post was about holding onto those last times but the new things are exciting!

First time you wanted to go on one of the shopping centre rides (as in when it moves).

Left you on the 'gup' with grandad while I did some shopping. When I came out you were happily on your second go?!!! And requesting more.

Hmm, not such a cheap ride anymore.

Taking the driving very seriously below.

The last time

Being a social media age mum- the internets are full of memes and quotes and stories for new mums. One that always sticks with me is that you never know 'the last time'. The last time you fall asleep on my lap, hold my hand crossing the road, need me to brush your hair etc.

Today you fell asleep in your pusher walking home from the playground and given you haven't done that for a few months it could well be the last time.

I forget how peaceful it is to have you sleeping while we walk knowing you are content, and this wierd feeling of protection and pride.

It was nice to realise it might be the last time and have the chance to treasure it.

Boot gate

Almost made it to 2.5 before your finger got stuck in a door. Sorry poppet, mummy shut granny's boot on you as you moved your finger.

Delayed reaction, popped the boot back open and then it was on. When you could speak again you requested a bandage, with penguins, because your finger is broken.

I bloody hope it's not.

For some reason holding it up while we watch tele is helping.

A quick trip to the zoo

Crazy weather here with the Birkenhead bridge flooding last night with a king tide and loads of rain.

Seemed to be clearing this morning so we risked a zoo trip to get you out of the house. Rugged up but it turned out to be lovely.
Being buzz. To infinity and beyond.
So brave! Running around at the top of the adventure playground and down the big slide.

Joey turns five- part 2

McDonald's party for Joey's birthday with his mates- he wanted to invite you along.

So many kids and you can't really be unsupervised yet so mum and dad were pretty exhausted after the party! You did have a ball though, enjoyed not sharing your burger with me and played your first pass the parcel.

Mother's Day.

Wake up call at 12.05am. Not sure if you just wanted to say happy Mother's Day, but I got was some tears and then some lovely warm cuddles. This is the hardest and bestest time to be your mum.

The next wake up was at 5.30 but this one included fancy breakfast, cuddles (happy birday mum!), very thoughtful gifts (the framed picture is great). A nice lunch out with the tromps and visit to Nanna and pop, and daddy got the dirty nappy later :)

Joey's 5

A big weekend with Joey turning 5. You loved the cannoli.

You had a lot of fun playing in Joey's kitchen cubby, and you are really getting in to character during dress up too.

You got Joey a Back to the Future Lego Dimensions pack. Next time we can hopefully see how it all works. A very cool toy!

The highlight, or low, was that everyone including you, me and Auntie Franki kept on stepping in dog poo. It was memorable!

Cooking it up in Joey's Kitchen.

One of Joey's better shots!

Dress ups with Uncle Ryan.

I am Donatello! We'll overlook that Leonardo is the samurai master.
