A beautiful boy

What a happy soul you've been today- laughing, smiling, cheeky cuddles and only a few attempts at opening the fridge/ getting in the pets water/ opening the pot drawers.

Just been out and about running errands- trying to sort out your room so we can work on the big move this weekend. Daddad's been relegated to the couch recently as you are waking up so much during the night. Apparent there is such a thing as 18 month sleep regression (and you've definitely got it ;).

We did fit in silly photos in the photo booth (which really just turned out bad- it's in the car sun visor  dad) and a playground on our travels.

Gifted child

You are always picking up books and reading through them, at childcare and home.

Early this morning you grabbed the only book in reach off Daddad's table.

18 month vacc

You sat on a little person chair in the waiting room and read a book! Quite happy about the freddo frog dr doan gave you after the shot- pretty sure you'd go again.

Today (day after) you've been a bit out of sorts with a little fever and exczema break out.

First words

Mumma, Daddad (said to dad or any other male in the supermarket) cat, dog, woma (Wilma), nana (banana), duck, boal (ball), look, more more more, uh huh, oh oh, no, stop (with hand signal), book, truck.

Any more dad?
'Shi...' better get that swear jar in place mate. You are also very good and telling Wilma off, at this stage it's all ga ga but I think you are not far off saying 'Wilma, out'!

Reading your 'Sophie's first words' book with dad. Pointing out the ones you know. So proud!!

You know who Granny is, not far off saying it we think.

The boy enjoys childcare

No need to pick me up ma, I'm busy reading with the crew.
Pointing out the interesting points for the other bubs.

Monday 15 June 2015

Getting back on track, cool cat.

Just as quickly as they appeared, your spots have started to disappear.

Dr Doan has given you the all clear to return to childcare, and your sores have crusted over.

All your growing up over this last bit has only started to show through now. You have been so unhappy, hungry and tired it's been hard to see your development.

It's very cute and heartbreaking when you give cuddles now (you won't let us leave for work), you can now find Zog on the page, and your face is going through a chubby phase.

Xx

A bib for your drool.

Lemons. A first word.

Your new favourite place. Mine too mate.

Lego and dancing

During this quiet week at home you've developed some new skills.

Lots of quiet time and you can now put together duplo and you've been making lots of little cars on the trains bases. Usually with a flower on top.

You've also been extending your dancing skills- toe tapping, bum shaking and arm waving. Whenever there is music on you take to the stage (in front of the tele).
And you have learnt how to walk backwards- mostly into mummy's lap for a sit and cuddle.

18 months and 1 day

Compelled to write to you on this day mate, would have done it yesterday, but we've been a busy family unit.

You with your hand, foot, mouth, Uncle Josh's passing, and mum getting not a lot of sleep. On a plus note, you've been eating a lot of custard, frozen cheese, super doopers, and anything else cold to numb the pain.

What an 18 months we have had together. I did not think that life would change as much as it has for us all. As trying as it is sometimes, I would not have it any other way.

You have given me perspective that I did not think possible, and it's fair to say that I would probably dealing with recent events very differently if I did not have your eyes to the world to look through and your future to look to.

Although the lack of sleep you sometimes give us (mostly mum!) makes me feel older than my 32 years, for the most part you make me feel younger. Toys, children's shows, and life's amazing things are so much richer with you and your unbridled amazement on board.

You've been around the world, you've stated to talk and walk, you've seen the inside of a hospital way too much (it's the Murphy way, sorry mate!), and you have shown you can dance with the best of them.

Wow, I'm a dad and you are almost out of the 'months'.

Next stop 2.

Everyone says it goes quickly, you've been a whirlwind. Love Dad Dad.

Quarantine time

With mum today doing the quarantine thing. Lots more sores on your face, arms and legs. You've got a bad run of this!
Headed out to get chicken and chips to try to tempt you to eat with something super yummy. This worked if I broke it up in teeny pieces and gave you some energy this afternoon- which you used to learn how to climb onto the dining table.
Mummy trying to get you 'sitting' instead.
Owwww!
Finally a sleep longer than 30mins. The bib is for all your drooling! The sores in your mouth must make you drool.

Hands + feet + mouth = one grumpy little fella

Not sure who passed this on to you mate, but we've done the right thing and notified all the little people you've been in contact with.

You are doing it tough. You didn't nap yesterday, didn't eat (less icecrram...) and you gave mum one hour sleep.

You are starved for cuddles, and you don't want to see either of us leave the room.

Sores on you face, arms, are the worst. Suspect the ones on your back and legs will develop over the coming days.

7-10 days quarantine.  1 down. Hang in there buddy.

Just saw a dolphin on the train in port harbour. What a mixed bag of luck.

Uncle J

A big funeral to farewell Uncle Josh yesterday.

A lot of rotary engines at the end, with Daryl heading off in Josh's RX3.

You did well mate, although you might now have chickenpox.

When it rains it pours.

We crossed the road to avoid monoxide poisoning.

All those rotors!

If they are chicken pox, they don't seem to be holding you up too much. Pétanque this morning too.

Nana's birthday

All the kids and grand kids in the one spot for Nana's birthday at Prince's Room.

Mum likes prawn crackers too.
Auntie Franki is always ready for a photo. Joe on the other hand...
Joey is a good sharer.
You were taken by the dog statues.

Burgers

A night out with Josh's crew at nordburger.
You can work out the spoon when their is high value food around. Scooping food and serving yourself for the first time properly. It is salted caramel!
Pleased as punch with yourself.

This week with mum

Burning the midnight oil at the start of the week- itchy in your sleep.
Riding
Riding
Riding.
Cuddle time- you actually hug back now and wrap and squeeze your little arms around us. It's so lovely.
Playtime at North haven.
Down the slide on your own for the first time!
Getting tall.
Beautiful eyes.
Comfy on mums side of the bed.

Lost and Found

You kicked your shoes off on the train yesterday, luckily, someone handed them in.

Happy that we have our shoes back. They are on tight!
