BBB sleepover

Big boy bed sleepover at granny's on Sunday night.

After a 2+ hour sleep in the car it made things hard for granny to get you to bed (almost 10!) but you had fun doing taco bowls and walking around feeding the fish and visiting all the neighbours.

Mum and dad hung out at the show, we still got you a dory bag though.

The zoo!

Day out w Manda and Max. Practicing the positive parenting skills we learnt the night before at a seminar at the primary school. Quite effective really. Lots of patience required.
The alligator was out!
Climbing boys.
Extended stop at the water fountain. General pusher avoidance but very grown up doing it on your own!
Teaching max to be a "male lion". Cute cheeky boys.
With dad - also practicing his positive parenting and 'chatting' about your days.

The show!

With granny! Still withdrawing from your chocolate splurge yesterday but we had a good day.

Father's Day

Father's Day yesterday.

Pressies in the morning.

Then JM ate half of dads massive haighs. Busted under the kitchen table- quiet is always bad news!

Mum and JM out with the tromps for a walk later.

Out to visit nana and pop (you fell asleep and so we hung out in the car the whole visit). Then the grandad for Father's Day and birthday celebrations.

You rocked at the big boy thing. Playing in the spare room with the toys. Coming to have dinner when you were ready and asking to eat. Asking nicely to get down when you were finished.

Also rocked the keys!

Big boy bed update

Totally rocking the big bed. You haven't fallen out yet (touch wood) and you absolutely love it. In fact I kinda shut the door to your room some days to stop you playing in it constantly.

After about a week of bbb you decided it was time to leave the sleeping bag out. So we tried it and you slept fine, and mostly keep your doona on. So that's a few nights now without you sleeping bag too. Lots of exciting times.

Last night you even told me you were tired and asked for milk in your bbb. Still hated having to put on pjs but negotiated ok when you realised that meant we went in the bbb next.

Now we lay together in bed and read and book, you have a milk and usually drift off with a 'once there was a little boy called john' story. Basically real life John stories about going to the big movies, Christmas, the zoo, your birthday. I'm so proud of you- might be time to pack up the cot soon :(

Big boy bed

Last night you slept the whole first night in your big bed. Super excited this morning, you were happy well rested and proud when we said you did a good job. And over the moon at your new 'John' truck which was your treat.

And then mummy left for work a realised maybe you won't sleep in your cot again. Maybe when I put you down in there the night before (because that was the first day of your big bed and at 9pm I gave up trying to get you asleep in it as you were too excited) it was the last time. And whilst I'm so excited for the big lovely boy you are becoming I'm also sad to be losing my little baby boy.

But we will see what happens tonight!

To the airport

Surprise pick up at the airport. Apart from a little (big) tantrum at the security where you did not want to let them scan your backpack we managed well. So excited about seeing daddy's plane, and even more excited to see daddy. You just screeched with pleasure at seeing him! And told everyone that's my daddy!

While dads away..

Daddy went to Sydney for a few days this week. We survived. Albeit an exhausted mummy at the end of the week.
Top parenting first night in.
Playgroup.
Your second big movie- finding dory! Still captivated by the whole experience.
IKEA for $5 dinner w granny- waving goodbye here. Even though she'd left about 10 minutes earlier.
Aunty cat stepped in for Pilates babysitting. Although you managed to sit through the first half of class without a peep- I didn't even need to pull out the surprise egg videos!
Kwazii passing me a pretty flower. (Sour sob).
Tacos and a movie Saturday night. Good date!
